Ice Climbing

  • Climbing agenda tailored to the abilities of participants.
  • Climbs offered in Colorado Springs and on Pikes Peak and surrounding areas.
  • Free equipment use for individuals that do not have their own mountaineering boots, ice climbing tools and crampons, as well as helmets, harnesses and belay devices.

Basic Ice Climbing 1/2-Day

December-April.

This half day is an affordable and exciting way for new climbers to try climbing in the winter, here locally in Colorado Springs.

None-- just a positive attitude and a willingness to have a blast!

Basic Ice Climbing Full-Day

October-May

This Full-Day, 6 hour introduction is designed for new ice climbers with no prior climbing experience. We focus mainly on building a solid skill sets that will become the root of all safe ice climbing practices. Students will learn climbing technique, edge safety, rappelling skills, belaying, gear usage, placing ice gear and more.

  • Ask about Ouray and Lake City ice climbs. December-March

Intro to Drytooling, Full-Day

Rock climbing with climbing tools. Join Phil Wortman for this Intro to Drytooling. Learn the fundamentals of mixed terrain from the areas finest and most solid mixed climbers.

Trip requirements: Belay skill and some rock climbing preferred. Helmets, harnesses, rock shoes, and technical tools are included; does not include personal clothing for climbing.

None-- some previous climbing (rock or ice) is a bonus.
