Ice Climbing 1/2-Day and Full-Day

Pikes Peak Alpine School is pleased to offer climbing excursions tailored to the experience level of the participant ranging from beginner to expert.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

• Climbing agenda tailored to the wants and abilities of all participants.
• Climbs offered in Colorado Springs and on Pikes Peak and surrounding areas.
• Free equipment use for individuals that do not have their own mountaineering boots, ice climbing tools and crampons, as well as helmets, harnesses and belay devices.

Beginner Ice Climbing 1/2-Day

This half day is an affordable and exiting way for new climbers to try climbing in the winter, here locally in Colorado Springs. December-April.

Beginner Ice Climbing Full-Day

This Full-Day, 6 hour course is designed for new ice climbers with no prior climbing experience. It focuses mainly on building a solid skill sets that will become the root of all safe climbing practices. Students will learn climbing technique, edge safety, top-rope anchors, rappelling skills, belaying, gear usage, placing ice gear and more.

Intro to Mixed Climbing Clinics 1/2-Day

Join Phil Wortman for this Intro to Mixed. Learn the fundamentals of the art and craft of mixed terrain from one of the areas finest and most solid mixed climbers.

Trip requirements: Belay skill and some rock climbing preferred. Helmets, harnesses, rock shoes, and technical tools are included; does not include personal clothing for climbing.

Course cost: $115 per person.
