This one-day course is designed for climbers with no prior climbing experience. If you have experience, it can be a great refresher for the early climbing season or for gym climbers making the transition to the great outdoors. The course focuses mainly on building solid skills that are the foundation for all safe climbing practices. The main goal of this course is to teach basic principles, enabling an individual to confidently set up top ropes, build proper anchors from bolts, and belay properly and learn as well as identify hazards. Guests learn the use and care of equipment, hazard assessment, rope management, knots, edge safety, top rope anchor systems, belaying principles, movement skills and rappelling systems.
