Rumdoodle Ridge, 1-Day

Truly one of our favorites. This hike and scramble has a bit of everything and all within the reach of any fit participant. This ascent has options and can be tailored to your liking.  With an early start it can be done as a one-day hike, or as a multi-day hike with a camping option. Offered year round.

The strenuous single day hike begins at 11,750 feet off Pikes Peak Highway above Glen Cove. We descend for about 900′ to a elevation of 10,800′, and then steadily begin climbing a rocky trail above tree-line, where we follow an exposed, scramble which forms the north wall of the Bottomless Pit.  This climb of over 3,000′ offers great views and great move in magnificent alpine terrain.

Our route has the option to allow for roped low fifth class rock scrambling.  At the top of the ridge we intersect the Pikes Peak summit trail; here we have the option to continue to the summit or turn around. 11 Miles, 6-10 hours for ascent and descent. Great first camping intro with a stellar route the following day, additional charges apply for overnight.
